What ND filters do ?

The purpose of a neutral-density filter is to reduce the amount of light entering the lens.

 

ND filters allows me to expend exposure time without producing overexposed pictures.

Avoiding diffraction !

By using ND filter, I can increase my exposure time and cut incoming lights as if using a bigger aperture such as F32, without getting the biggest lens aperture drawbacks: the diffraction !

By using Hoya Pro ND, I can have a very long exposure with getting a not too closed aperture.

 

Whith Hoya Pro ND, I can work on the best in the lens range best aperture performance, and avoiding diffraction problems
